Wireless router <-> printer problems

I have a Sky wireless router, a laptop and a Lexmark wireless all-in-one printer/scanner/copier, all in separate rooms. On two or three occasion the laptop has been unable to connect to the printer and the signal display on the printer is orange. To overcome this I have had to reload the router software on my laptop.
Surely this isn't the correct solution?
Any ideas?

no it's not

the "software" is just a muppet installer that configures the settings

I assume orange isn't good (weak signal?) - so it's more likely to be the position of the router.

wireless is basically rubbish - the number of factors it "could" be is huge,

in effect you need to imagine looking through the floor and walls and "seeing" the router - you can't see through metal

and microwaves, TVs, fridges etc will "blur" the image

try moving the router round - most people want it as out of the way as possible - not good for a transmitter
