itunes cd uploads

i am having problems with my hardrive at the moment, and so have ceased downloading and saving music to my pc
however, when i import a cd to itunes, am i right that this isnt saving to my pc and therefore not taing up any hardrive space?

Nope your wrong, the music will be stored somewhere on your harddrive, you should be able to find where it is being stored within the iTunes software.
