It is free if you are calling a skype id

If you call a landline or mobile phone, you pay
T calll landlines just pay 3 quid a month select one of 30 countries and get unlimited free lanline calls

also get cheap texts and you can get skype to go on your mobile phone tooo when in a participating country.

but for pc to pc calls it is indeed free.

D T H ?
It's 8 a month to call landlines worldwide; or 3.39 to call Europe; or 2.24 for just UK

Thankyou all very much
Just to add, it is highly unlikely you have "8 megs a month" broadband, it would either be 8Gb or have a speed of 8Mbps which is the maximum speed of the connection.

If it were 8Gb a month then that is more than enough to use Skype reguarly.
Just did a bit of research and came up with this.....

1 minute call at 70kbps consumes ~ 0,5 MB of bandwitdh
10 min ~ 5 MB
100min ~ 50 MB

So a 15 minute call would be about 6-7Mb, not a lot in the grand sheme of things.
