It probably needs un-blocking.

Any ideas on doing this as I am not a techy
take it to the guy on your local market that sells all the phone covers and ask him.

They charge about 5-10quid to unlock a phone normally.
Hunt out the mobile phone stall down your local market. They'll be able to unlock it whilst you wait for 5/10.
Ooops, chuck beat me to it!

no freebies ?
You got given the phone didn't ya?!
if you have the usb cable for the phone you could hunt about some Russian sites and possibly find the software to do it.

More likely to find a nice virus for you computer though.

Much easier and safer to take it to somebody that has done hundreds of times and already has the gear to do it

If both PHONES are not set up to recieve service from same service provider it will never work.

Eg you're on 02 (and obviously have an 02 sim) in a phone provided by 02 (or shop knowing you're going on 02) God i'm waffling already!!!!

If you were to take that Sim out of your phone and put it into phone from firend (maybe who was on Vodaphone for eg) it probably wouldn't work. I know that some are compatible and some are def not compatible.

Hope that helps
^ incorrect

Nokia only made one 6310i

If it's setup to only work on one network it either has a network lock on it, or at a push non standard software installed on it.

Network locks can be remove, non standard software can be flashed to standard software.

This may not be the case with more modern phones so much, but a Nokia 6310i is hardly an iPhone!
Sorry ChuckFickens! You've completely lost me.........so I stand corrected.

Good luck with problem Flissy
Look on the right side of this page, there is loads of cheap un-blocking for mobiles.
