Can anyone please tell me how to receive iplayer in Spain?

you can't.

you might get some answers suggesting you use a UK based proxy server, but they will not work. most are banned from accessing Iplayer themselves as the BBC knows they are proxy servers and even if you find one that isn't banned they are never fast enough for streaming video.

Thanks Chuck for your prompt answer, I just do not understand why the BBC will not let you do it.
because the BBC only own the copyright for the material in the UK, they would be breaking copyright laws if they allowed people to watch it aboard.
The BBC gets no licence fee from people living abroad.

My view is if I live in England and pay my licence fee but have a holiday apartment in Spain, why can I not have iplayer.

With regard to copyright, BBC programmes get shown abroad on foreign channels. How come that does not infringe copyright?
Better contact the Beeb then!
