mp3 players

I'm thinking of getting an mp3 player.. i'm in my 50s and all the technical stuff goes over my head a bit.. what i want is an mp3 that i can connect to my computer and download my music from my library to the mp3 and i want one that i can connect a transmitter to so i can pic the transmission up in my car on the car radio.. i don't mind spending a bit on a decent one so has anyone any suggestions as to what i should get? is there any with an internal transmitter? or what make is a good transmitter

I'm a lot older than you - and I was worried about mp3 as I am very hard of hearing.

However, I am more than pleased with my Creative Zen - it works very easily with Windows Media Player and radio transmitters are available.
I spoilt myself and bought a Vision: it has a 60gb hard drive and plays video as well.

??? way over my head, I'm into computers big style but mp3? I have absolutely no idea, do I need it, or one? I am at a total loss, leads me to believe whatever it may be I can live without it

Loads of mp3 players around - some cheap, some expensive. Look out for reviews.

Quite a few mp3 players with FM transmitters in them but any transmitter with a headphone jack will work. Try Google for FM transmitters etc.

If you don't find a player with good headphones, have a look around, Sennheisers are a good start but you can pay a lot for some very good ones.

Make sure that you get one (similar to Ethel) that works simply with Windows (ie. drag and drop you music both ways) rather than having to use specific software like iTunes (although some people would swear by it *****).

Really depends a great deal on how much you want to spend and how often you will use it, how many songs/videos you want to be able to keep on it.
I don't know of any with a built in transmitter for your car/home stereo but you can buy quite a good sepperate one for a reasonable price.
