This is a register of people who DONT want to be phoned up by people selling you things, and any UK company doing phone sellling should abide by the list.
When we first registered orur nuicance calls dropped completely.
The only calls we get nowadays are from foreign call centres who probably dont abide by our rules.

While we are on the subject of nuisence calls, I got my most annoying call ever the other day.
It was a Saturday morning and the phone rang at about 9 a.m.
I picked up the phone, and before I could say anything an automated female voice (with an annoying american nasal whine) said "Sorry that is an invalid response"
I was furious as I had not said or done anything and SHE has the nerve to say I had done an invalid response.
I hung up in anger, but part of me wished I had hung on to find out which company it was so I could complain about them.

We signed up to the Telephone Preference Service a couple of years ago and it's brilliant. We get the very occasional call, but all I do is ask them where they got our number from as we have signed up to the TPS, and I get an apology and they say they will remove our number from their list. Fantastic service.
