This would be for Windows Messenger. In the meantime if I go on Msn Messenger, and I click to go to chatroom, I get a pop up that says that I have to dowload an add-in; I just don't know what it going on anymore. When I tried to download the add-in I got a pop up saying they don't exist any more and I have to download something else instead. I did so but I am still getting that msg... A man who knows about computer is coming to see me on Thu. - in the meantime I am very confused. Thank you again,.
Windows Messenger is predominantly unused in home computing. It's main use is to send messages to machines on a local area network i.e. an office. Since Exchange Mail server has become more popular Windows Messenger is pretty much obsolete as most people now favour email. That said, if you have Windows Messenger enabled on your PC you may find that you get spam messages coming through.
When you say that you click to go into a chatroom on MSN Messenger, what exactly do you mean? There are no chatrooms as such, only fiends that have allowed you to contact them.
Thank you for your msg Gandy. I was looking for a chatroom for people from my old school but I discovered that there is no such chatroom any more, they apparently speak via Msn Messenger - all rather complicated for me - but I did manage to speak to one of them a few evenings ago. Did you mean "friends who have allowed me to contact them"? Yes, this sounds like what is happening. Thank you again.
