How can I make copies of everything on my computer including photos? My nero isn't working so don't think I can make a cd. What is a memory stick, could I use one of them? Easy explanations please.

if you have XP or vista you don't need nero to make CDs, just right click on the files or folders you want to put on CD and select send to > cd drive

A memory stick is a small device with memory in it that you plug into a usb port and then shows as another drive in my computer so you can copy files to it. very useful for transferring things, not really suited for backups.
its probably easier than a CD, just plugs into a USB port, obviously it depends on the size you buy, but you can just drag and drop everything into it....
..but USB drives can fail hence Chuck's point about saving to CD or DVD
You can copy to cd in exactly the same way as you copy to memory stick - it is no more difficult
