sky tv

I have sky plus in the main room, and a sky box connected to a tv/video combi in the bedroom.
Apparently. sky send a signal switching the sky+ box off, and programmes in the main room still record, even if the box is off. However, in the bedroom, the box is switched off, and any programmes are not recorded.
Any ideas how I can overcome this. Can I ask sky NOT to send a signal to disconnect, or do I just pull out the telephone cable from the box?
Thank you.

Sky would not send a standby signal to these digiboxes for the reason you give i.e. it would interfere with video recordings.
