X Factor -backing singers

I dont believe any of the 3 finalists deserve to be in next weeks final (except possibly JLS).
Both Eoghlan and Alexandra have had strong backing singers on their songs in recent weeks. which has helped to disguise their weak vocals.
Ian Hyland wrote in todays News of the World that the backing singers in this X Factor series are the real winners of the show.

I don't believe that Alexandra is weak vocally, but I did think that the sound set up was bad this week and that the backing drowned her out.

I hope JLS do win. They have proved themselves to be extremely versatile with all sorts of music and are much more entertaining than anybody else.

I think this has been the worst X Factor ever. Except for Ruth Lorenzo, the rest of the contestants have been distinctly average

I liked Laura and Austin. Ruth got better and better throughout the series. I agree it has been a very poor X factor. Noone actually has been really outstanding or has the 'X' factor!!

I was probably incorrect to suggest that Alexandra has weak vocals, however as Lofty Lottie mentions. the backing tapes and singers have tended to drown out a lot of the acts in this series.
Why dont they have a separate competition just for the backing singers only!?

Personally, I think the backing singers and dancers should be cut out completely. The extravagent dance routines, etc. might well influence the voting. If you enjoy an entertaining routine then the singer becomes secondary. This has happened with Eoghan on numerous occasions. The stage act and backing singers have been to the fore, and Eoghan's lack of talent has been disguised!!

It is a singing competition after all - well I thought it was.

I think it's a sad state of affairs when 182,000 audition and the 12 that made the final were distinctly average at best.

I can't see how X factor can have much more of a shelf life as out of the 4 previous series only 2 people have had what I would call success:

Leona And Rhydian.

Shayne Ward is at Butlins with Chico, Leon Jackson is pants etc etc

well yes i must agree that the backing singers drowned eggnog a couple of weeks ago when he had trouble hitting a particular high note. i used to be a roadie come mixer and it was an old trick to do this to cover a dodgy note here and there i think the old pop idol set up without all the vox pops before the song and all the excessive tears was a far better prog to watch

I do agree with you Alan. Pop Idol was a more believable and more honest talent contest.
