If this doesn't work, can I ask where you got the .avi file from? If you downloaded it from a peer-to-peer network, it could well be a fake .avi file (not a movie file at all, but a virus disguised as a movie file). Try and get hold of something that you know is a genuine .avi file (have a friend e-mail you one or put one on a disk for you) and try playing it on your computer.

Thanks guys.
I am currently running Windows 98 with Windows Media Player Version 6.01. It doesn't have the 'Tools' option as you suggested.
The two Avi files I downloaded was over 13mb and 4mb(now deleted)is from pop video. Other format such as Mpeg and Wmv are ok, but when it comes to Avi it just come out with an error message. I will have to download it again and give it another try.
Unfortunately I didn't write down what the error message said.In order for me to find that out I have to download the AVI file again, which I will do and will try out the tips given here.
But right now I have another problem with my Cyberlink Power DVD software, it wont play Region 3 anymore! I just have to reformat my hard drive again start from scratch!
Thank you people.
