recording into my music

I've inadvertently altered a setting on my laptop and can't
get discs to download into " My Music ". When downloading singles or albums from Itunes I have no problem in making a folder in " My Music " and transfering
the folder to my Itunes library and onto my Ipod . However
when I play a disc in my disc drive the tracks don't automatically appear in " My Music " as they used to. When you put a disc into the drive there is a menu pop up asking where you want the music to go but no mention of " My Music " . The pop up does allow you to
go directly into my itunes library but then doesn't want to
sync onto my Ipod . Any ideas please ?
