This file does not have a programme associcated.....

everytime i click on a programme on my taskbar or desktop,like adaware,limewire etc...a box xcomes up and says "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action.Create an association in the Folder options control panel....what does this mean and how do u do it?

Does this happen every time you try to use a Shortcut, ie. from the desktop as well?

nothings working atall,internet explorer is, on my desktop but not the shortcut on my taskbar,windows media isnt working aswell,went onto control panel there the now and add or remove programmes isnt working etc,but the folder options is?

Right, thought it might be no association with the .ink (shortcut) file, but if the shortxtus on your desktop work it can't be that.

its just the my documents,computer,inernet that works on the desktop,stuff that was on the computer when i got it

There's a known issue with a problem accessing My Documents from the Start menu http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;2752 07 if that isn't your problem you can search the MS knowledgebase further from that screen You could also try http://www.annoyances.org
