If you will use the internet features (email, web browsing, etc.) features a lot, it'll be the best phone you've ever had.
It is amazing, and blows any other phone out of the water. The interface and touch screen system is also leagues ahead of any other 'touch screen' phone out there (thanks in part to a ton of patents that Apple has).
If you regularly use bluetooth for anything other than a headset, or use MMS picture messages a lot, or like to forward text messages, you'll be disappointed.
I recommend you try one in an O2 or Apple store.

i agree with fo3nix, the iPhone is as good as the hype. However, I am disappointed with O2s 3G coverage. I cannot get the network in my home or at work. This is only a minor inconvenience as I can use it in wifi mode at both places.
Also, O2 are the worst mobile phone company I have ever used. Since we got the phones at work last October, we have never had a correct bill. They have taken more money each time and then credited us at a later date.
But the phone is fantastic.
