internet upload/download speeds

using generic broadband speed test download speed approx.1300mps & upload approx.370mps. is there any way the upload speed can be increased?

Nothing you can do unless you are prepared to change your isp or upgrade your service with your current isp
... but your upload is always going to be around 25% of your download - it's what the A in ADSL stands for: Asymmetric, i.e different up-and download speeds

thank you both for prompt replies.i live out in the sticks so quite happy with the download speed.rojash's explanation of adsl answers my question.appreciable download speed experienced after fitting bt i plate.
Isn't it asynchronous rather than asymmetric ?
