ipod easy and free

my seven year old has just spent her christmas money on an ipod nano.
Is there anything she can have for free - legally?
Or is it either, pay for it,or download illegally?

There's tons of music out there that's free.

But most of the popular (i.e., chart) stuff is pay for. That's how the industry make their money.

You can buy from Apple's iTunes store (within iTunes itself), where each song is about 79p.

Or you can put your CDs in the computer and rip them to the computer's memory, so that they go into iTunes.

Or, you can download stuff illegally.
