Travelling into EU from outside with USB HDD

Will be moving into the EU from outside over the next few weeks...will be leaving my laptop but will be taking USB HDD 120GB with me with all my stuff and some MP3s (most downloaded!!!) If stopped at customs will it be taken away to be searched ....has anyone been stopped carrying a HDD and was it a hassle??

i got stopped with a laptop once. they cant look at it (or yr HDD) without very good reason. I did declare it just in case coz i was worried about the xrays damaging it, but there was no problem.
