If i buy a hdd camcorder can i still tranfere the footage onto a normal DVD disc via my DVD recorder?

Yes you can play the disc from the camcorder and on to a new dvd via an av cable. This misses the point of DVD discs as it would be quicker to duplicate using a pc or mac providing you have the right software. You can also import dvds into an editing package faster than real time too.
