Read books online

I want to read books online and have looked through a few sites but none seem to be what I'm looking for. I like modern girly romance books such as Shopaholic Abroad by Sophie Kinsella and lots by Freya North. Any ideas of where I could find something similar?

You can get older stuff to read online via Project Gutenberg, but for published, up to date stuff, you'll have to pay.
If you want to read some new, unpublished writers (like me, for instance), you could have a look here. If my book doesn't appeal, there are loads of others, and you're welcome to join and pass comment on any of them.

Quizmonkey, many people are allowed lunch-breaks at work these days, and my employer can't be the only one that allows its workers to surf the net during their lunch break.
On the other hand, most libraries are free, helen. You could borrow an audiobook on CD, shove the CD in your PC and listen through headphones.
