Is it OK to run Reg Cure in conjunction with my Avira as it found 231 errors and cleaned them? How is it Avira didn`t find errors when I ran a scan with it?

The thing with these programs like Reg Cleaner is that they will tell you that you have stuff you shouldn't have and then try to get you to buy it in order to get rid of them. It's possible you have no errors at all. Registry is best left alone unless you'r an expert.
If you have malware then malwarebytes is terrific, it's free and works alongside Avira without conflict. Give it a try but I wouldn't let anything calling itself "Reg anything" anywhere near your computer

it's not really a good idea ... I've never ... ever seen a serious review of any reg repair prog (they do get included on the disc ... but they get paid for that)
the registry is a very efficient thing ... and you have to really try to mess it up.
every prog only looks at it's own bit - so if you have old refs in there it almost certainly doesn't matter
if malware modifies your registry .... then (and only then) the scanner will make changes.
some refs may be to kit that isn't plugged in (a usb disc or similar) - you don't want a fixer to delete the keys just because the device isn't there...
