Is My Telly Knackered?
3 Answers
Recently I turned my TV to discover an intermittent squeaking noise, with no picture and no standby or power lights - does this mean the tube has gone? I'd rather not try look into repairing it if someone is going to charge me 50 to tell me I need a new one!!

Could be a power transistor, or IC or perhaps the line output transformer. A decent tv engineer might be able to give you an estimate based on the model (they tend to have stock faults), but my guess is a fairly expensive repair.
