ipod nano 4th gen

we have an ipod that the buttons seem to have siezed on, it only works if you shuffle it, can anyone shed some light as to how we may get it working properly or, do i have to contact apple?

Check the hold switch at the top. Toggle it on and off a couple of times. If this doesn't work then go here http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/nano 4gen/
and follow the steps there to reset and restore. If that doesn't clear call support or pop into an Apple store if you are close
