it's upside down because it's australian! .... get it?
twr
I've never heard of anything like that (then again I've never carried a printer 10500 miles)
DVDs yes ... but region codes for printers?
aparently it's true - personally I'd skip it and buy another
but this may work
Here's how to make it work: 1.Turn on the printer 2. press the left and right arrows at the same time (printer asks for a code) 3). 3. enter 1 2 7 on the number keypad (menu MFG XXXX is displayed where XXXX is the mfg code) 4. press left arrow until "boot code" is displayed (1 time maybe more) 5. hit ok 6. left or right arrow until "set to, mfg mode" is displayed 7. select ok (mode set mfg is displayed for several seconds) 8. your finished press cancel until the main screen is shown where the error was. 8. turn off and turn on. (Note screen will now display "DO NOT ship unit in its current state, but it should print.) Now you can print but to copy and scan open the HP solution center on the computer.
Also, a small bonus. It seems that the HP engineers had nothing better to do with the extra memory on the machine than to use it for a game of pong. Pressing left and right arrows will again ask you for a code. Enter 7664 to play a game of Pong on your printer. Press OK to launch the ball. Wow now that's useful.
