How do I open a page that comes up with just several large squares and in each square, at the top, there is a very small square with a red x in it. many thanks

This usually means that the pictures used on the website are not available. The website is either having trouble or the pictures have been removed.

You could try "right clicking" on each picture and choosing "show picture" from the menu.

Is it just on one site? Another option is that you have a firewall blocking this site.

many thanks squarebear. I thought it could be the firewall. I want to "start the droid" on Ditloid Droids but the next page just comes up with the squares and crosses. My settings have not changed and it was always ok before but the last two weeks it suddenly wouldnt obey. I have tried adding it to the exceptions list but that hasnt worked so I am stumped and havent found a suitable alternative website to check for the ditloids.

Do you have Flash player installed? The ditloid site needs Flash player to be installed before it works correctly.

go to http:www.adobe.com and click on "get ADOBE flash player" about half way down the page.

Many thanks Squarebear. I do have flash player but I seem to think I might have had one or two popups telling me that it needs to be updated. I did try once but it was going to take something like four hours to do it as I am on dial up and I decided to ignore it. Looks like I need to do that now. I will let you know if it works.
