dvd formats/ sony player

I have a sony DAV-S400 dvd player, i have just phoned sony to ask if my dvd player will play dvd+rw discs, she told me it will not play any rw discs which isn't so as my brother has sent me dvd-rw discs to play which do play perfectly o.k, does anybody know if this model will play dvd+rw discs please.

contradicting reviews about playing DVD+RW here, some seem to say it works fine, other people are reporting problems.

It may well be down to the brand of disk being used though.... really the only way to know for sure is going to be try it and find out.

Tesco will sell you a pack of 10 blanks DVD+RW for about �5... I'd risk losing a fiver to find out
