got any good tips on growing chilis and tomatoes
I am having trouble with getting my chilis and tomatoes getting growing. Has anyone got any good tips on compost and watering etc.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Your propogator would be better in a warm room. Put it on the hot water tank or in the airing cupboard. Then when they start to germinate put them next to a sunny window keeping soil damp not wet at all times.
Once risk of last frosts has passed hardenen them off by slowly introducing them to the greenhouse temps.

It will depend on the variety of tomato. I'm growing 3 types. The Italian ones (Roma) are about a foot tall now and showing the first flowers. The others are only just peeking through the soil, but they were sown later. These are all in a greenhouse.
Our peppers are only about an inch tall at the moment.
There's plenty of time yet anyway, so I woudn't worry.

don't worry about your chillies as long as you keep them moist in the greenhouse they will grow when the weather warms up.I grow them in large pots in the greenhouse and when they really get going stand them outside in the warm but take them back in when the weather is cold at night or excessively wet or windy. They will grow,just be patient
