ok u lovely peeps u, me again, help needed please, fuse blowing in dyson!! :0)

Hi all, Thanks again to everyone who replied to my previous question a few weeks back on my dyson DC07 (I cleaned all filters, got hair etc out of brush etc etc and it's been working good as new!) but now my problem is that it was working, then it sounded like it had sucked up something it shouldn't have for a split second (the floor was pretty much clear of debris as I 'prepare before I hoover' as I have kids! lolol) and then it gave up the ghost and refuses to start again!!! After cleaning all filters etc again, I changed the fuse with the one from my kettle but no joy......my kettle then didn't work so I know it blew that fuse too. Does anyone know what the problem is and if I can fix it myself (well, not myself, but my fella is pretty good at plugs and wiring etc if he's told what to do! lol) as it's not worth the �40 or more that a person would charge for a callout fee just to look at it! Any help greatly appreciated from you peeps, as ever!! Kind Regards Andrea :0)

1: if the fuse keeps blowing the wiring is wrong in the plug or its loose. http://www.simplifydiy.com/electrical/wiring-p lug

2: Could be a loose wire inside the motor. Opened mine & found loose wire; 3mts after shop repair! :(

Thanks tamborine, i'll (tell my fella lol) open up the plug etc at the weekend to see what's occurring lol. It was lovely of you to reply so thankyou! :0)

Can anyone else tell me what wires i'm looking for or looking at etc?

andrea1...you dont have to wait for fella.....its DIY - grab a screwdriver & get at it - it's the only way to learn.

Thanks again tamborine but I want to know what i'm looking for before I DIY with an electrical problem.....my kids wont thank me if I blow the vacuum up, and myself besides, by going at it as a total novice! I love to learn but with a more informed tuition, to be frank. :0)

Unplug the machine, open it up and look for a loose wire; the connexion place would be close & obvious - you can't hurt yourself. Search Freecycle for a replacement if you cant fix it.

engineer said some leave faults for more work :(

Hi tamborine thanks again! :0) we've had no engineers as yet so I shouldn't have that problem but you're telling me to open it up but open up what though? the plug is a self contained unit and if I cut it open and find no fault with the wires at the plug, i'll have to seal it again with special insulating tape to make it 'safe' when the problem might not be that at all and i'd rather find all the possible probs before I start dissecting the dyson, as i'm a total novice which i'm sure you can understand. Also, excuse me for seeming dim but when you wrote "Unplug the machine, open it up and look for a loose wire; the connexion place would be close & obvious" then I'm missing the obvious as I don't know what to open up and what connection place you're referring too, also 'close' is relative to which point of the vacuum you're standing in front of I think so I need actual specifics. I do appreciate your replies though but you should give me up as a 'bad job' lolol.
If anyone else has a suggestion that's helpful (not just buy a new one etc lol) then it'd be greatly appreciated still!
