my job is unstable and its the governments fault :(
Just been told this week that we could lose our job in a few months time and that be prepared. We are all temps (3 Full Time and one Part time). So we wont get redundancy pay. I work for LloydsTSB ever since the merg we knew that we could lose our jobs, Even though our supervisor reassured us that we're not effected. it is only the HBOS side are badly affected.
Now ... The Senior Managers had a meeting with the supervisor saying that ... they are reviewing our project that we are working on and it may be stopped to cut cost. (only the temps are affected not my supervisor). What my supervisor is going to do nx week is to draw up a proposal to the seniors to why we should keep the project running... henc we could help the bank save around Xm year if we complete it. If the seniors objects to it (ie distribute the project inhouse), then the Supervisor would say to the Senior.. they would have to give us (temps)at least One Month notice before stopping the project.
I think this is Fair, and i know my supervisor is doing all he can to protect our job, but how can they say 'we are fine and not affected to 'its pretty unstable'.
i think its the Government to blame to all this Cr@p. if LloydsTSB werent FORCED to merge with HBOS then they wont be in this mess.
there have been so many job loses up and down the country, and Leeds had been badly affected. That is just great! Thanks Government... Thanks a bunch.
if i do lose my job, i will live on benefits!!
(well until i find a job of course ;-) )
