Disc drive disappeared

I have recently installed a new Norton Internet Security software and the disc drive icon on my computer has disappeared.
This means that we can't play or load anything from a cd disc on the computer.
Have tried a system restore but it keeps failing to work.
Any ideas before the whole lot is chucked in the local cut!(canal)

probably a registry issue.... happens quite often, have a look here, there is a fix it button half way down the page.

Now about this team I support........we are bottom of the league and need a defence ,midfield and attack to get us out of the mire.

LOL.... glad it sorted it, CD drives I can do, miracles are beyond me though so your on your own with WBA ;)
