Why, oh why, after making an MP3 cd on my PC, does an "error" message come up when I try to play the cd on my stand alone CD/MP3 player? I`ve checked everything - it plays perfectly on the PC, so why "error" on my CD/MP3 player? 711

Some players don't like copied cds. Or it doesn't like the brand of blank cd you are using
The above poster is correct but it may be the way the MP3 disc is structured.

Try making a direct copy of a retail CD audio disc (not MP3) and see if your player will play it. If it does then it is not the type of physical disc you are using that is the problem.

In this case check the folder structure and filenames used on the MP3 disc (some players might not like spaces in filenames, very large folder trees or capital letters). Tey a few files at a time. Unfortunately you will end up wasting blanks in finding the issue.

Thanks, folks. It seems that it didn`t like the fact that I`d grouped my tunes in three separate folders. I tried burning all the tunes in an open single list (no folders) and it worked! Cheers. 711
