The eject button is not responding, and iDVD refuses to load.
How can I get my dvd out of the machine?

Seems this has happened to quite a few people. Type 'powerbook disc won't eject' into Google and read several discussions and proposed remedies - some successful, some not.
look just to the right of the CD slot and if it has a tiny little hole there then unfold a paperclip and push it into the hole and it will eject the disk.

The hole is only there on early models though.
I know this isn't funny but I had to giggle to myself - I misread the title of your thread. Sorry! :-D
hmmm, I wonder what work you misread :)
Restart the machine.

As it starts up again (before you hear the chime), hold down the eject button.

That should do it.
