windows popping open

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help me? I am getting lots of windows popping open, dating sites, win-a-phone, holidays, insurance... I have AVG 8.5 (the paid for version) and Ad-Aware 2009 which I run costantly but still the windows keep popping open. Someone told me I must have a Plug-In somewhere. Can anyone here suggest anything I can do to get rid of this problem? Thank you very much.

what else happen? do you get windows security center opening?

Sorry Mattk I am not sure what you mean by Windows Security Center opening. All that happens is that all of a sudden my pc seems to "freeze"... then at the bottom I can see a tab... it tells me that there is another session on ... if I click on that, it magnifies a window with the sort of rubbish I mentioned above... insurance, holidays, dating etc.

I'm afraid that Ad-aware 2009 is a rogue application (Google it). The previous 'good' version was Ad-aware 2008 - the latest is their anniversary version.

These solved my problems like the windows popping up and going to random sites.

Thank you for your helpful reply. My apologies - I do, in fact, have the Anniversary Edition. Writing "2009" is my mistake.
