Can you right click in the main folder and select "Arrange icons by name"?

I have not got Vista to hand so cannot verify the exact words, but that is how you do it in XP.

yeah you can..but in vista it bunches a through to j together, its well annoying.
Try view> sort by > name ascending . I think that's what you mean
Right click and group by artistes (or whatever) maybe

open the folder window,
right click on the windows

select the option "arrange by the names"

and all the folders will re size in the alphabetical order.
all you need to do is click on "name" at the top of the folder list. That's it, nothing else, it works for all the other columns as well of course in case you want to sort them by date or size etc.

And to save you the bother of scrolling if it's a long list just type the first letter or second if you want of the folder you're looking for and it will scroll to it for you

Question Author
I know what you mean, it puts it in alphabetical order, but not the way I had it in vista, where A was categorised by itself, and so was b and so on..
