I have downloaded a music file (non copywrite) but I only need the intro not the whole thing which I need to burn to cd, is it possible to edit the downloaded file to save just the section that I want, if so how ??

Certainly. You need a sound editor like Audacity or Goldwave.

Google for free sound editors.

Blimmy that was a quick answer, but cheers I will give it a go....
Square's right ............. I use Goldwave a lot ........... but you have to pay for it ........... doesn't the basic sound recorder in Windows give you simple editing facilities?
If it's just a one off thing, I'm sure you will be able to download a 30-day demo or so.

I use Cool Edit Pro 2 for my editing.

Cheers people, I just got a free version of Audacity it looks just what I need once I figure out how it works (when it comes to computers i'm a numpty)
