My card reader states it's USB 2.0 but every time I plug in my creative jukebox it says a hi speed device has been plugged into a non hi speed device. How can I tell if my USB port is 1 or 2.0

Try accessories, system tools, system information.  Check under components, storage and then usb.   Mine shows a usb 2.0 root hub.

Thanks EssJay. Did that. I see a number of usb root hubs showing the following:

4 of

USB\ROOT_HUB\4&17..........

1 of

USB\ROOT_HUB20\4&.....

Do I only have 1 x USB 2?

Sorry pauloffshore I've been away.  Bet you've sorted it out meanwhile! Sounds like you do have 1 usb 2.0.  Surprisingly for pc techonolgy usb 2.0 are backwards compatable and so usb 2.0 things will work in usb1.0 only slightly slower.  I thought things should carry on working, but  it sounds like yours isn't?
