Iam upgrading my PC.

Looking at getting this wifi pci card ( http://www.lambda-tek.com/componentshop/index. pl?prodID=B138906&viewSpec=y&showold=#productT op ).

Only thing is, the pci slot I have got on my motherboard looks like this: ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PCI_Slots_Di gon3.JPG )

Will it fit and work?

Thanks for looking

Yes it will fit...

is there a good reason why your putting wireless in your desktop though? a wired connection is generally far more stable, secure and faster. the only real benefit of wireless is portability and your unlikely to want to walk round the house using a desktop.

I'd much rather use a wired connection if at all possible.

Thanks for the Answer

I was going for a "N" type wireless pci coz LAN's speed is 100Mbs but wifi N is 300Mbps and maybe improve the internet speed?

Plus I can then plug my BT Home Hub 2 in to the Master socket in the hall instead of a slave that is wired thro the house aprx 30 meters from the master.

Sound good? or just keep the LAN?
firstly speed, your internet connection is going to be less then 20mbs (at the very very fastest!) so it's still much slower than a 100mbs LAN connection so getting a faster connection between the hub and the computer will not make your internet faster. Also the home hub 2 only does n spec wireless up to 130mbs so even if you got full speed wireless (unlikely) its hardly any faster.

Plugging you hub direct into the master socket may give you a marginally faster internet connection, but probably not a lot, if at all.

If your connection is stable and doesn't drop out at all how it's setup at the moment I would leave as it is.
