Outlook - delaying sending emails

I have received an email which was sent to me at 4.05 in the morning. I am aware that Microsoft Outlook has a feature whereby one can delay sending an email until a specified time. As the recipient of the email, is there any way I can tell whether or not the individual sending me the email took advantage of this feature?

1. Yes, some emails can be delayed. 2. You don't know what email software the sender is using. 3. The sender's clock settings could be wrong. 4. You don't know what time zone the sender is in. 5. If in doubt, delete!

The email time isn't stamped by the senders clock settings, it's by theirs and your ISP. (the same with text messages, if I was to change my clock to 1972 and text you the date would still be right when you recieved it) If the email has been send via a re-direction (newsgroup, mailing list or email mask) then often this can delay it.

No, its not possible to tell wherther its been delayed as Outlook keeps the file on the computer until the desired time. Only then is the email message sent and timestamped by your ISP's mail server, same as if you had actually sent it at this time.

If the person sending the mail is using Eudora and writing offline he can click send and it will remember what time "Send" was clicked. Then if the mail is sent the next time he is online the date and time stamp will be wht it was when the mail was first written and "Send" was clicked.

I don't know any way it can be checked by you though.
