Problems After Installing RAM

Yesterday I installed some more RAM on my PC. I realised I only had 256MB, so used Crucial UK to recommend what I should buy that would be compatible and subsequently purchased an additional 1GB. Since intalling it, I'm having some problems. Everything appears to be working fine, but then suddenly an error message will come up saying 'Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close' - this is happening alot. I'm having trouble downloading anything - at some point it will come up with an error and close down. Any ideas why it might have started doing this since I installed the RAM? And more importantly, what I can try and do to fix it?

Thanks....

Try removing the 256mb all together, if all seems OK like that then try puting the 256 back in but swap the two sticks over from the positions they are in now.

Thanks ChuckFickens!

Have taken out the 256mb and seems to be working ok at the moment.....will leave it out for the time being I think!

Leave it out permanently.

Mismatech memory (different makes, different speeds, different siez) can cause problems.

Go with the 1G.
