Media Player vidio clips

I have clicked on a video clip on the net to watch it, and I have no desire to keep it. The clip played on my Windows Media Player, and when I click on the desk-top icon, it plays the clip instead of just opening the Player. Can anyone tell me how to find this clip and delete it, along with any other video clips that may be stored unintentionally? Thanks.

Right mouse click on the icon on the desktop.
click properties
this gives location.
go there
delete
