How do I add music to Photo Story?

Making a slide show using ( Microsoft) Photo Story 3. Have got a genuine bought CD (The Beach Soundtrack) and want to use one track from here and add it to my slide show.

When I click on "Select Music" and the Open dialogue box loads the "Files of Type" suggests that only .wma OR .mp3 OR .wav can be added.

When I change the "Files of Type" to "All Files" and then select my chosen track (which happens to end in .cda) it makes naughty sound and says "Photo Story cannot add music to your story because the selected music file is not a valid music file. Select a valid music file and try again."

So how do I rectify this? Surely I don't have to buy it again from net even though I have a "hard copy"!!

All help much appreciated!!

Many thanks in advance

You have a copy of the CD not a copy of the wav file. If you google for CD ripper, you will be able to run a small bit of soaftware that will extract the music form your CD to your computer.

I believe some versions of media player will also do this.
you are adding the wrong file format songs . this type of files are not supported by your software so try new songs which are supported by the software.

you can also use the power point to make the slide show.
You don't need any additional software to rip a CD, just open Windows Media Player and rip the tracks.
