Which ipod should I buy?

My son had his ipod (classic I think) stolen and I'd like to buy him a new one for his birthday. He's 23 and heavily into the music industry. Any advice as to the latest ipod I could buy without being horribly expensive?

The iPod Touch is brilliant, but it is also the most expensive. It can connect to the internet if you have wifi at home, and also send and receive emails. There are loads of games and apps that work on it. You can play movies and download from iTunes. It is like the iPhone but without the phone bit.

If you can afford it, I highly recommend it.

An 8GB iPod Touch is actually cheaper than the base iPod Classic model, although the Classic has a much larger capacity.

How does he like to carry his music.

By this I mean, is he someone that likes to carry all his music with him, or is he someone satisfied with having only a few hundred songs with him at any one time?

If he likes all his music at all times (perhaps why he used to have a classic -- they store the most), then go for another Classic.

If he's content with several hundred or a few thousand songs with him but not all his music library, I'd go with the iPod Touch. If this is a bit expensive, I'd go with the Nano, which offers similar storage capability, but is just a music player, and not a full-blown internet-capable computer.

ipod touch has more features than the ipod classic. but it is expensive . but it is the best.
