What is hidserv? Apparently there is an eRumour that this file is a hidden file that collects data on your Internet use and passes this information onto a third party. According to Microsoft this is not true. It is part of Windows 98 (second edition) and relates to Human Interface Device Service and deals with your keyboard, mouse or any other device that connects to your PC through the USB bus. It is a bone-fide Windows file.
