i see in the"gadget show"last night that you can fit in car entertainment products that let you watch a dvd while driving.
i know it can be used for rear seat passengers and of course there's nothing to stop any irresponsible driver watching a portable dvd player,but this is a fitted dvd player as part of a complete ICE system +sat nav
i remember a few years ago going by national express to London and "having "to watch a extremely poor video system on the coach while travelling and it was the regulation then that all the side curtains had to be closed so other drivers would not be distracted by the tv screens on the coach.when did the ruling come in that dvd players could be fitted in the dashpanel

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.they are normally wired in such a way that the DVD player will not work if the car is in motion (normally wired to the handbrake, but of course there is nothing to stop people changing the way they are wired in so they will work )
The more advanced ones have gyroscopes in them that detect if the car is in motion and stop DVD's from being played
