CCleaner is increasingly popular, and I've seen it mentioned on here a few times.

I've even responded to a question about it, and I said I thought it was good.

But now ...

I've just found this ...

http://ccleanerexposed.org/

One of my lappys died yesterday, for no apparent reason, and could not be saved. I had to buy a new one.

The crash happened ...

... just after I had run CCleaner !!! !!! !!! !!! !!!

Just thought I'd mention it.

I guess from now on I should leave technology stuff to those of you who understand it.
I did say that a techie would explain better what i meant.

ive seen the likes of chuck and vhg and ac troll #( i think ) recommend c cleaner and thus i use it.

as i said drastic to throw a lappy out
i know of one got some cola on the keyboard
crashed and was dead .
was told leave it its scrap put in a cupboard .
6 months later it turned on and works.

id always seek advice before being that drastic jayne : o)

from smart folk btw .

mr bounty sounds very complex in comparisson to my dell .
oops after the tech advice

id simply say

the answer is no : o)
no stars for me then....

to be fair J - one person's experience shouldn't form the basis of a witch hunt (although historically it always has).
and chuck did offer to drive down and sort it ...

CC is a handy tool for everyone techies and "ordinary" users alike (that sound patronising - it's not meant to)
It speeds up a time consuming job that does need doing from time to time

I always recommend the default settings ... and warn about deleting cookies. if used correctly (not aggressively) it has a very low risk rate.

google ccleaner review or ccleaner problems and you'll be hard pressed to find negative reviews
(except from the sponsored links on the right - which is where your link comes from)

if you want to crit free virus scanners ... now that's another matter
