Converting tiff's to thumbnails on a Mac?

Can anyone tell me what to do on the Graphic Converter to change a tiff into a thumbnail? I managed to do it once (by accident) but I can't find out how to do it again.

Thanks for an advice.

photoshop will not allow me to paint, patch etc etc
