Medic Alert Tattoo
4 Answers
HI there, having just been diagnosed with Epilepsy. I have been told to wear a MEDIC ALERT bracelet or necklace. The only problem is I can't stand wearing jewellry. It was suggested to me that a small wrist tattoo would suffice, as long as it had the MEDIC ALERT symbol and any other information required. I would like to hear any opinions of fellow MEDIC ALERT wearers.

ironically the only place I take it off is the hospital.
my concern about a tattoo would be what do they take off if you were to have a fit? - would it be seen ... and if it's small - would people actually read it
short of having it in your forehead they could easily miss or discount a tattoo
having said that - the locket doesn't actually sound a siren
but staff do look for jewelry as a matter of course

I agree with AC, most people would not read a tattoo and also would the tattoo be highly legible? also having a symbol as a tattoo would not necessarily mean you had an ilness to people, some people like putting symbols that mean things as body art.
you may not like jewellery but like everything after a time you would get used to it, give it a chance.
