Is it possible to record from an old Sony reel-to-reel to a modern cassette recorder (Tandberg)? If so, what sort of connection would I need?

"modern casette recorder"!!

I didn't know you could still get casettes.

Simple answer is, if you have the right sockets on both pieces of equipment, then yes you can - the sony needs an output of some kind, like line out, ear, or phones, and the casette an input, line in, or mic jack. You may have to trial and error with volume settings, depending on how you do it, but it is possible.

As for leads, depends on your sockets, but try a specialist supplier (net or shop) for audio leads.

thank you, mailmutt. Yes, you can still buy cassettes and I use them quite a lot in my music teaching.
