What indeed!! Disgraceful. Also spelling seems to be no longer a priority in our schools.

Ian. You are right it is a disgrace. Your neighbour should contact her local NHS Trust and report this in writing. Patient welfare is of importance, but also is the fact that there is a financial aspect, which is plainly theft. Also for one set of employees to be subjected to search on leaving the site, and a separate set of employees not to be searched, is also discrimination. If this is reported in a proper way, then the NHS Trust should do it's own investigation, on both matters, into the administration of rules within the hospital in question.
That is dreadful, they should be docked money or sacked.

The answer is quite simple - staff who are stopped and searched should refuse to allow it unless it is shown that all staff are being treated the same, regardless of colour, creed or nationality. As for the management not wanting any claims or publicity for discrimination - this is exactly what they're doing only by means of positive discrimination!
Where can I get some patience food, does it give you the abiity to wait for things?
No that would be patience food geezer not patiance
When i was in hospital last year they had a nurse from an agency who could hardly understand english looking after a lady next to me i say look after she read a magazine not realizing she was going hypoglycimic an didn't know what to do so before she went into a coma it was me who had to alert the other nurse's!!
When I was a child in a childeren's home, with my brother and sis.We would sneak into the kitchen at night to rob the bread,as we always seemed to be starving. Now I know where all our food went, the bloody staff robbed it.

I visited my brother in hospital and saw what looked like a a pool of water under an old Gentlemans bed and pointed it out to my brother my brother told me it wasnt water it was the poor mans urine bag had burst and the sister had told the nurse to change his bag lots of times but the so called nurse didnt take any notice and couldnt hardly speak or understand english i went to the ward desk and complained but was fobbed off with they were waiting for a cleaner to come and clear it up how pathetic is that .i hope gordon brown and that coward blair reads this
Cleanliness in UK Hospitals went to pot when West Indian cleaning staff moved on.

Ian you seem perturbed by the fact these cleaners are Foreign. What you should realise, your fellow English will not do such jobs, (just as they wouldn't when my parents landed on UK soil in the 1950's) and would prefer to remain on benefits than be seen to be doing lowly jobs. Therefore, these types of jobs can only be done by these "foreigners" you mention.

I agree with Jack-a-nory, spelling does indeed no longer appear to be a priority in schools!
Velvetee

What do you mean by?:

Cleanliness in UK Hospitals went to pot when West Indian cleaning staff moved on.

Please elaborate.
I mean in the days when my mother and other West indians were cleaning in hospitals, they were spotless. Now they are filthy and overun with diseases. That is what I mean.
Soory my bad, I just re-read your post and I thought I saw 'moved in' rather than 'moved on'.

I agree with you completely, my granmother was part of the Windrush and she worked her fingers to the bone to nurse patients back to good health!
*sorry*

Well then Ian you should know better than to bang on about 'foreigners' should you not?

On AB people are only two colours - green or greyish black.

Yeah AND, do you want a Blue Peter badge for claiming to have ethnic blood flowing through your veins. If you are so concerned about all these foreigners working in hospitals, stealling food from the PATIENTS, then why don't you go and work there yourself.

I find it offensive that you think only foreign workers steal from their employers. I work with an all English workforce and if it's not nailed down, it will be stolen. Workers of any background, particularly if they are poorly paid, will feel they're getting one up on their employers if they steal things. It's human nature and cannot be based on race, religion or ethnicity. I think it is you who is the ignoramous here!
