Maxter 500g hard drive Wont run

Hi I have got a Maxter 500g external hard drive. I came to use it the other day i pluged it in to the mains and in to my laptop, it started to power up and the trips and stops. I have tried another socket that did not work and my friend has got the same hard drive so i borrowed his power surply and that did not work either!!!
Any help would be great!!! As i have photos on there that are needed for a website!!!!

so that leaves a couple of things ...
the box ... or the HDD
and without opening the box it's impossible to say which
I'm assuming you don't have access to spares - so
the only chance you have of accessing files would be to open the enclosure, remove the HDD and mount it in either another enclosure ... or as a slave in another desktop.
either way you'll void any guarantee.
the last option is to go see a mender man (get a quote first) and see if they can recover or transfer the files for you - it could be quite costly though
